About Philip Parker -

Founder, River Valley Farm Machinery

I’m Philip Parker, founder of River Valley Farm Machinery—a hobby enterprise born from a lifelong passion for classic agricultural equipment and a deep-rooted connection to traditional ‘basic’ agricultural technology. What began as a simple exercise of building a collection of restored 1970s/80s classic tractors has evolved into a dedicated small business venture that blends tradition and enjoyment.

Growing up in rural New Zealand, I developed a strong appreciation for the durability, design, and history embedded in older farm machinery. Over the years, I have spent considerable time sourcing, restoring, and showcasing iconic models—particularly Massey Ferguson and John Deere tractors and other equipment that represent a proud era of agricultural innovation.

River Valley Farm Machinery is not just about sales—it’s about storytelling through machinery. Whether it’s providing reliable equipment for practical fieldwork, a tractor to help launch a boat, or helping an enthusiast find a dream restoration project, I focus on matching the right machine to the right purpose with care and integrity.

This business remains grounded in its original ethos: preserving farming heritage, supporting fellow enthusiasts, and delivering machinery solutions with a respect for history.
